UNDERGRADUATE REQUIREMENTS
The academic requirement for entrance into the Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree pro-gram, at the more prestigious and academically challenging chiropractic colleges, is the Baccalaureate Degree.

The B.S. or B.A. degree must be in the sciences, i.e. biology, chemistry, physics, etc.

Competition for admittance is keen; accordingly, the cumulative grade average should be at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 basis.
The baccalaureate requirement is reflective of the more academically progressive chiropractic colleges. It must be noted that there are yet a few chiropractic colleges aspiring to compliance to a national chiropractic educational standard.

Some state licensing boards, for licensing purposes, require that the pre-chiropractic educational requirement (B.S./B.A.) be fulfilled prior to applying to an accredited chiropractic college. Yet other states permit the baccalaureate degree to be concurrently fulfilled while obtaining the Doctor of Chiropractic degree at an accredited chiropractic college.

State licensing requirements are not uniform throughout the nation. Individual state imposed educational requirements, to ultimately gain chiropractic licensure, may differ from those educational requirements mandated by accredited chiropractic colleges. Accordingly, it is imperative that the student make themselves aware of the educational requirements mandated by the state in which they will ultimately seek licensure to practice chiropractic.
